Tax and Structural Diagnostic · For foreigners and anyone operating from UruguayTax diagnostic · From Uruguay

A tax and structural diagnostic to decide your structure before you act.

Before you set up a company, move to Uruguay or start invoicing from here: we classify your activity, compare the structures that actually apply, and hand you a written recommendation with a roadmap.

We classify your activity and recommend, in writing, how to operate from Uruguay.

At a glance

What the diagnostic is, in plain terms.

A licensed accountant analyzes your case with your own numbers and tells you, in writing, how best to operate from Uruguay.

  • What you get

A confidential report with your recommended structure and a roadmap.

  • How long it takes

3 to 5 business days from when we have all your information.

  • What language

Mainly in writing, in your language: write in English and your report is delivered in English. Calls are also possible.

  • What comes next

If you want, we carry on with you: setting up the company and the monthly bookkeeping.

Who it’s for

Is it for you? If any of these sounds like your case.

  • You export software or IT services

Development, SaaS, QA or DevOps, with clients abroad or a mix: whether you qualify for a favorable tax treatment and what you need to keep in place.

  • You work for clients abroad

Consulting, marketing, design or contracting: what changes when you operate from Uruguay, and how to structure it.

  • You’re moving with investments abroad

Dividends, interest and gains from abroad: whether you can opt into the impatriate regime and which conditions you need to meet.

  • You already invoice, but doubt your setup

Operating with the wrong setup gets expensive: DGI and BPS fines and surcharges, or losing a benefit for periods you’ve already invoiced.

No regime is granted because of your industry or how much you invoice: first we check whether your case qualifies.

Already running a company and looking for an accountant? That doesn’t go through the diagnostic: services for companies.

What you get

A report to decide with, not just another conversation.

  1. Your activity, classified

What your activity is for tax purposes, whether it fits a special regime and which requirements you need to keep meeting.

  2. Structures compared with your numbers

Sole proprietorship, SAS or another form: which ones work, which don’t and why, with the taxes and contributions of each.

  3. Risks and documentation

What could undo your tax treatment, and the exact list of documents you need, nothing more.

  4. Recommendation and roadmap

What to do, in what order, and what depends on you, on us and on the authorities.

Check my activity

60-second pre-check, no documents needed.

How it works

Three steps, and the fee in writing before you pay.

  1. 60-second pre-check

Eight questions about your activity and your situation in Uruguay. No documents needed.

  2. Written proposal

If your case merits the diagnostic, we confirm the scope, the fee and the timeline. You only pay if you accept.

  3. Report, review and beyond

We review it with you in writing, in English, or in a call or meeting if you prefer (video call or La Barra). If you implement it, we stay on: the incorporation and the monthly accounting, tax and operational work.

Pre-check

Eight questions, no documents and no commitment.

Where are you today?

So we know what to look at first.

Your case, in six answers

No documents. It tells us what needs analysing.

It is not a tax requirement and does not determine whether we take your case: it helps us understand how material your decision is.

It defines what needs coordinating with your home country.

Where should we reply?

We will write on the channel you leave, in English.

Sending an enquiry does not create a professional relationship; what you tell us is kept confidential and used only to reply to you. See the legal notice and privacy policy.

No commitment. No documents needed.

We do not ask for documents, ID or bank details at this stage.

Who analyzes your case

Two licensed accountants, one point of contact.

Your case is handled by one of the firm’s partners, in strict confidence.

What information do I need to prepare?

Your activity, your current standing with DGI and BPS (Uruguay's tax and social security authorities), and the relevant transactions. Above all, what decision you need to make.

Can it be done remotely?

Yes. We work mainly in writing, in English: we reply in English and your report is delivered in English. Calls and meetings in La Barra or by video call are also possible.

Does it include the paperwork afterward?

No. The diagnostic delivers the analysis and the next steps; implementation is quoted separately.

Why is it paid, and how much does it cost?

Because it’s professional work with real responsibility behind it: a licensed accountant analyzes your case and gives you a written recommendation. We don’t publish a price list: the fee depends on the work your case requires (variables, jurisdictions, depth), not on how much you invoice. We confirm it in writing, and you pay only after accepting the proposal, before we start; at that point we tell you the payment method for your country.

What if my case doesn’t need the diagnostic?

We tell you after the pre-check. If the answer is simple, or if what you actually need is the incorporation or the monthly accounting, we point you there instead of selling you an analysis you don’t need.

What if I already have an accountant back home?

That’s fine: your accountant back home keeps handling your obligations there. We analyze your situation in Uruguay specifically (residency, structure, IRAE, VAT).
