What the setup includes
We handle the sole proprietorship registration and coordinate the invoicing requirements.
The registration is filed the same day with your complete information; approval depends on DGI and BPS. Filing, approval and the ability to issue invoices are separate stages: invoicing also depends on the required documentation and, where applicable, authorization under the electronic-invoicing regime.
Registration filed
With Uruguay’s tax authority (DGI) and social security institution (BPS), the same day with your complete information; approval depends on DGI and BPS, and we let you know as soon as it is confirmed.
Electronic address
Setting up the electronic address with BPS is included in our setup service and is handled with the necessary authorizations. For registrations in DGI’s taxpayer register (RUT) made on or after 1 October 2026, it is also mandatory to set up an electronic address and subscribe to DGI notifications within five business days of registration.
Invoicing under the applicable regime
We coordinate the e-invoicing authorization where applicable and confirm when you can start issuing invoices.

What we do not do
We say it from the start: what is ours and what is not.
We would rather you know where our work ends, so you do not find out too late.
Only the Uruguayan side
If you live in another country, what happens there is handled by your adviser there. We make clear what applies in Uruguay.
Residency and work permits
These are immigration procedures and we do not handle them. We tell you when it is best to sort them out before opening.
Permits for the premises or the event
The municipal government (Intendencia), food safety (Bromatología), the fire service or other bodies: we point you in the right direction on what we know, but we do not process them.
Frequently asked questions
What people ask us most before opening
Can I open a sole proprietorship as a foreigner or without a Uruguayan ID card?
Registration can be done by an individual with their identity document; if the document is foreign, DGI asks for a copy. The papers we need change depending on whether or not you have a Uruguayan ID card (cédula), and we tell you which ones at the start. Residency and work permits are immigration procedures that we do not handle.
When do I have to register?
We review the applicable deadline based on the start date and the registration route. Missing deadlines leads to penalties, so it is best to have it sorted before the first job, not after.
How long does it take?
The registration is filed the same day with your complete information; approval depends on DGI and BPS, and we let you know as soon as it is confirmed. Filing, approval and the ability to issue invoices are separate stages.
What happens when the season ends?
Before it ends we look at it together: whether the business continues or should be closed properly. Deciding in time avoids procedures being left open by oversight.
Do I have to hire anyone after opening?
No, you can work alone. If you add someone later, let us know before they start: hiring adds employment and social security obligations that are best sorted from day one.
What does the work proposal look like?
Before we start we send you a written proposal setting out what is included and what is not. It is built from the details of your case, so there is no single amount for everyone.
